Pakistan election results: out of 236 seats PTI backed Independents gained 97


The Pakistan election commission (ECP) couldn't fully disclose the results of the national elections even after a day that was held in on Thursday (February 8). 

The results released so far show that independent candidates supported by Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf have won more seats.

According to Al Jazeera, till now the Election Commission has announced the results of 236 out of 266 seats in the National Assembly.

Out of this, PTI backed independent candidates won 96 seats. And Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) won 66 seats. Bilawal Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) won 51 seats.

Besides, other parties got 23 seats. Result of one seat has been postponed. 29 more seats are left to declare the results.
