Indian airport declares emergency after Air India flight bomb threat


Air India Flight 657 landed at Thiruvananthapuram airport on Thursday after receiving a bomb threat, ANI reported. 


A state of emergency was declared, according to Thiruvananthapuram airport officials. 


Thiruvananthapuram airport officials said the aircraft has been kept in a quarantine bay and passengers will be evacuated shortly. 


A statement from  Thiruvananthapuram International Airport said, "AI 657 (BOM-TRV) reported a bomb threat at 07:30 on 22 August  2024. At 07:36 a.m. a state of emergency was declared at TRV airport." 


The plane landed safely. It is currently in an isolation bay and the evacuation process has begun. No life was affected. 


Airport operations are not currently suspended. Further investigations into this incident are ongoing.
