Pakistan election 2024 results: Candidates backed by Imran Khan's party PTI have claimed victory as the results started to come in. They also alleged rigging of polling booths and deliberate stalling of results.
The people of Pakistan voted to elect its new government and members of National Assembly on Thursday. The polling started at 8.00 AM and continued without any break till 5:00 PM. In some constituencies time has been extended two hours to cover all the voters.
Counting of votes began following the conclusion of the polling and the results of individual polling stations started to pour in after the mandatory one-hour restriction ended.
The magic number for the winning side is 169 seats to secure a simple majority out of the 336 total seats.
Imran Khan's PTI party begins celebrations
Reports say PTI has started celebrations at Polling Station 244, NA 48 of Islamabad. PTI claimed that its candidate Ali Bukhari was winning the seat with a huge majority.
