Imran Khan urged PTI supporters to guard the votes


Ex PM of Pakistan and Imran Khan urged his supporters to guard the vote as the unofficial, unverified preliminary results show “Independent candidates” winning the elections in several constituencies nationwide.

He said It is now It is now critical to guard the vote by getting Form 45. 

On Thursday night in an X post the imprisoned leader said, ''Despite every possible method employed to undermine the will of the people, our people have spoken via MassiveTurnout for vote today. As we have repeatedly stated, "no force can defeat an idea whose time has come." 

The people of Pakistan voted to elect its new government and members of National Assembly on Thursday. The polling started at 8.00 AM and continued without any break till 5:00 PM. In some constituencies time has been extended two hours to cover all the voters. 

Counting of votes began following the conclusion of the polling and the results of individual polling stations started to pour in after the mandatory one-hour restriction ended.  

Candidates backed by Imran Khan's party PTI have claimed victory as the results started to come in. They also alleged rigging of polling booths and deliberate stalling of results.

According to Express News, PTI backed candidates are leading the results as Nawaz sharif's PML-N and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's Pakistan People's Party are lagging behind.
