Israel's airstrikes continue in Lebanon, killing 92 in one day

Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon continue amid ceasefire talks. 92 people were killed in one day. Lebanon's Ministry of Health confirmed this information. He said that at least 92 people were killed in the Israeli airstrike on Thursday (September 26).

The Israeli army started a massive attack on Lebanon from last Monday. They claim that these attacks are being carried out targeting the armed group Hezbollah. 700 people have been killed so far in the Israeli attack on Lebanon since last Monday.

Hezbollah is also retaliating. In such a situation, it is feared that a full-scale war will start between the two countries. Last Wednesday, the European Union and 11 other countries proposed a three-week ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah to find a solution to the conflict.

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said at the outset of the proposal that his country welcomed it. After his comments, the proposal saw a glimmer of hope.

But the Israeli political leadership rejected it on Thursday. After arriving in New York to attend the United Nations General Session today, Netanyahu said, Israel will not stop in Lebanon until all goals are met. Chief among these goals is to ensure the safe return of displaced residents of northern Israel to their homes.

The White House later said the ceasefire proposal was made in coordination with Israel.

In New York, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for an immediate ceasefire to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Lebanon. He said the conflict could turn into an uncontrolled war.

Tensions also flared between Israel and Hezbollah over the war in Gaza that began nearly a year ago. Since then, about 70,000 people in northern Israel have been displaced.

According to UN estimates, around 90,000 people have been displaced in Lebanon since last Monday. 1 lakh 10 thousand people were already displaced.

The Israeli military said Thursday it carried out strikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley in the country's east. They also attacked infrastructure along the border between Lebanon and Syria. Israel claims that they carried out those attacks to block the supply of weapons to Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it fired 50 rockets at the Kiryat Ata settlement and 80 missiles at the town of Safed. Both areas are located in the northern part of Israel.

The Israeli military says it has intercepted a missile fired from Yemen. They countered it after raising the alarm about the missile attack.

Israel's army chief, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, said on Wednesday that airstrikes in Lebanon would provide Israel Defense Forces access to enemy territory.
