Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike. The Lebanese armed group confirmed this information in a statement on Saturday (September 28). Israel launched a massive attack on Beirut on Friday (September 27) evening. Nasrallah was killed in that attack.

Israel launched a massive air and drone attack across Lebanon from last Monday (September 23). The US and its allies proposed a three-week ceasefire in Lebanon last Wednesday (September 25). But Israel rejected that proposal.

On Friday (September 27), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue fighting Hezbollah with all his might. After that, the Israeli army launched a major air attack on Beirut.

The Israeli military said on Saturday it had hit more than 140 targets, including Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut, since Friday evening. This includes infrastructure that is built under residential buildings.

A series of residential buildings in the densely populated southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital have been razed to the ground in the latest Israeli attack. It has been alleged that Israel used 'bunker-buster' bombs in this attack.

Meanwhile, after the announcement of the killing of the head of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah by the Israeli forces, the security system in Iran has been greatly strengthened.

Along with that, the supreme leader of the country, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been moved to a safe place, according to a Reuters report.
