former CIA officer Brian Jeffrey Raymond |
A former CIA officer has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of sexual assault cases. On Wednesday (September 18), a US court announced the sentence of Brian Jeffrey Raymond.
Raymond, now 48 years old, has served in the US intelligence agency for a long time. During his employment, he drugged and sexually assaulted more than two dozen women in various countries and also took indecent photographs of the victims.
The descriptions given by the victims against him during the court hearing are, in a word, horrific. The plaintiffs said they were duped by a man who appeared to be kind and educated and was part of an influential organization whose mission was to protect the world from evil.
Raymond was found guilty of sexual assault and other charges at trial in November 2023. After about 10 months, his verdict was announced. Senior Judge Colin Coller-Cotelli said in his remarks that he was a sex predator.
District of Columbia Attorney Matthew Graves said Raymond lured women to his government residence, drugged them and then sexually assaulted them while he was a government employee.
Senior Justice Department official Nicole Argentieri said Raymond sexually assaulted dozens of women over a 14-year period. According to court sources, Raymond's last posting was in Mexico City. There he drugged several women and sexually assaulted them.
In 2020, Raymond became involved in the rape of a woman in Mexico City. A woman screamed for help from the balcony of her residence while naked to escape from him. After this incident, the investigation against Raymond was started on May 31 of that year.
The FBI appealed to the public there in October 2021 to provide information for the sake of the investigation. An electronic device used by Raymond was found during the investigation.
Hundreds of pictures and videos were recovered from it. In which at least 24 images of unconscious and naked or partially naked women are seen.
He worked for many years in the Central Intelligence Agency. Lived in different countries including Peru due to job. The FBI said he was fluent in Spanish and Mandarin.
