Israeli lawmakers approve bill to bar Al Jazeera news broadcast.
The Israeli parliament on Monday has passed a bill giving top ministers the authority to bar from Israel the broadcasts of news channel Al Jazeera- a step Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu is poised to take, AFP reports.
This law, which passed by 70 votes to 10, carries the authority to ban the broadcast of content from foreign channels but also allows the closing of their offices in Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to enact a ban on broadcasts in Israel from news channel Al Jazeera using authority lawmakers have just voted to grant him, AFP reports.
"The terrorist channel Al Jazeera will no longer broadcast from Israel. I intend to act immediately in accordance with the new law to stop the channel’s activities," Netanyahu said on X, formerly Twitter.
