Nikki Haley defeated Trump in Washington DC

Washington DC primary results: Former President Donald Trump has been defeated in Washington DC by Nikki Haley, her only rival in the Republican presidential candidate nomination fight.

Haley defeated Trump for the first time in the presidential primary. Not only that, this is the first time in the history of the United States that a female candidate has won the primary of the Republican Party.

However, this candidate lost in his home state of South Carolina. Although so far, Trump is ahead in the race to become the candidate of the Republican Party. It is believed that he will face Joe Biden in the November election.

Report says that the former UN ambassador received 62.9 percent of the vote in the Washington DC primary. Trump, on the other hand, received 33.2 percent of the vote.

Nikki Haley's campaign spokeswoman, Olivia Perez-Cubas, said, "It's no surprise that the Republicans closest to Trump in Washington are rejecting him and all of his antics."

Trump is leading the Republican Party nominations so far. He won Idaho, Missouri and Michigan last Saturday (March 2). But securing the nomination from the Republican Party depends on Super Tuesday.

Primary elections in 16 states will be held simultaneously on Tuesday (March 5). The day is called 'Super Tuesday' in the US election process as primaries are held in several states.
