A TV presenter close to Putin suggests dropping nuclear bombs on three NATO countries

Vladimir Solovyov

The fear of nuclear war is intensifying in the wake of unprecedented conflicts and tumultuous political instability around the world.

In such a situation, a TV presenter close to Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested nuclear bomb attack on three countries of the Western military alliance NATO. American media Newsweek has published this news.

Vladimir Solovyov, one of the most famous journalists and TV presenters of the Kremlin-sponsored Russian media, spoke about nuclear attacks on the three leading NATO countries, the United States, Germany and France.

In response to Solovyov the analysts said that Paris, Marseille, Leo, Hamburg, Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the cities of the United States should be the first to drop atomic bombs.

Host Vladimir Solovyov hosts a talk show titled 'Evening with Vladimir Solovyov' on Russia One and RTR-Planeta television. On that talk show earlier last month, he suggested nuking Western cities. The video of that talk show has now spread on YouTube.

Daily Beast reporter Julia Davis shared an excerpt from that talk show on X last Friday (March 7). There he says, discussants and analysts who participated in the talk show also mentioned the names of the cities in the West that should be the first targets of nuclear attacks. Some of their top choices: Paris, Marseille, Leo, Hamburg, Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the United States.

Newsweek said it has reached out to Russia's foreign ministry via email for comment on the talk show's remarks. But still no reply.

Many Russian politicians and officials have expressed fears that a 'real' nuclear war could start in the wake of the conflict in Ukraine. These include former Russian President and Prime Minister and current National Security Advisor Dmitry Medvedev to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A few days ago, Putin again warned about the risk of nuclear war. In his annual address to the nation on Thursday (February 29), he said that if Western countries escalate tensions over the Ukraine war, there will be a "real" risk of nuclear war.

The war in Ukraine marked two years last week. On February 24, 2022, Russia began military operations towards Kiev. Ukraine's resistance to fighting that escalated into a bloody conflict.

Despite not directly participating in the conflict, the West, the United States and European countries are providing all kinds of support to Volodymyr Zelensky's government in Kiev.

However, European leaders have indicated sending troops to Ukraine. Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he is not rejecting sending French troops to Ukraine. Macron said there are "no limits" to Paris' support for Kyiv. After Macron's statement, Putin warned about nuclear war.

shortly after French President Emmanuel comments, Solovyov uesd his show by railing against France. "The goal of France is not just getting free resources from the territory of Russia, but the destruction of Russia. The final solution of the Russian question," he said.

"Why do I think that we should carry out a strike against the West? Because I can see right through them! They say 'Russia can't tell us how to help Ukraine!' It's not for you to dictate how Russia can respond!"

A guest on the show, Andrey Sidorov, deputy dean of world politics at the Moscow State University, told Solovyov that the issue is "not whether or not to use nuclear weapons. The issue is against whom to use them. You often talk about France or Great Britain.''

Solovyov responded: "That's right, France, Germany, Poland, Great Britain." "That's not the main issue," Sidorov repeated. "There is another country that presents a danger which stands behind all of the aforementioned ones."

"I mean the United States. Unlike other countries you mentioned, it can present an existential threat to Russia," he continued. "The issue is, either we start it and conduct the first strike, no one ever rejected an idea of a disarming strike."

Solovyov said he was undecided on where exactly Russia should attack with nuclear weapons. "I just can't decide: Paris or Marseille? What should we destroy in Germany for their Taurus? Maybe Munich? Maybe we should have an audience vote, see which cities are they willing to spare," said Solovyov.

The Putin ally added: "The level of humanity's madness has reached its limits, the West won't stop at anything. We should harshly fight against it with all the forces and means at our disposal."
