China's Maglev train breaks it's own speed record. It has set a new speed record surpassing its previous record of 623 km/h (387 miles per hour), claimed by the developers of the train.
Magnetically levitated or Maglev train is developed by the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC). It's being said that the train 'lavitates' on the track or rail line.
According to the South China Morning Post, the exact speed reached by the train that 'breaks record' is yet to be disclosed. But the CASIC said that it had made "a significant breakthrough" with its latest test. It also added that it was the first time the ultra-fast hyperloop train achieved stable levitation while travelling in a low-vacuum tube.
The corporation said that the latest test not only set a speed record for the system but also validated several key technologies and proved that they work well together.
This means that China could soon have a train that is as fast as a plane, the SCMP reported. The vehicle relies on maglev technology, which uses magnetism to propel the train forward and "levitate" it above the tracks. The train also travels through a specifically designed low-vacuum tube to further boost the speed.
