Elon Musk responded to Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris. |
US tech entrepreneur and Tesla CEO Elon Musk mocked American star singer Taylor Swift for supporting Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in the US presidential election.
He referred to Swift as a 'childless cat lady' and said he would give her a child. Trump's Vice President JD Vance used the phrase 'childless cat lady' long ago to mock childless women.
Taylor Swift posted a post on Instagram Tuesday (September 10) night after the first televised debate between Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. In declaring support for Kamala Harris, Swift said,
"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them," Swift wrote in her post.
"I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos," she continued.
A few hours after Swift's post, Elon Musk shared a post on X. In it, he referred to Swift as a 'childless cat lady'. He also wrote, 'Fine Taylor.. you win.. I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.'
Taylor supported current President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. He also criticized Trump in a documentary that year.
Last month, former President Trump created a controversy involving Taylor regarding the election to be held on November 5. Trump posted a photo of Taylor Swift on his social media account, Truth Social. In it, he is seen urging people to vote for Trump in the election.
Many of Swift's fans and some watchdog groups then reported that many of the photos Trump posted were created by artificial intelligence (AI). Swift made the same comment.
In addition to Swift, stars such as singer John Legend, Olivia Rodrigo, actor George Clooney and director Spike Lee have endorsed Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. And celebrities such as former wrestler Hulk Hogan, TV star Amber Rose and billionaire Elon Musk have expressed their support for Trump.
Who will be the next president of the United States will be determined in the election on November 5. Initially, it was assumed that the current president Joe Biden and the former president Donald Trump would have a close fight in this election.
But last July, Biden withdrew from the election and endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris. Since then, both the Democratic and Republican camps have been campaigning hard for their respective candidates.
