Electric car maker Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk have lost their top positions in the list of the world's richest people. Jeff Bezos, the founder of the world's largest e-commerce site Amazon, topped the list.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index told this on Monday. According to the Index, Elon Musk lost the top position in the list of the richest people after more than nine months. And for the first time, Bezos' name appeared on the top of the list.
Tesla shares fell 7.2 percent on Monday. According to Bloomberg calculations, Elon Musk's net worth has dropped to $197.7 billion. On the other hand, in the same time Bezos' total wealth was 200.3 billion dollars.
52-year-old Elon Musk has more or less held the top position in the list of the world's richest people since 2021. Now the 60 year old Bezos overcame that position for the first time.
Besides Tesla, Twitter, Elon Musk is the head of rocket company SpaceX and Neuralink. Startup Neuralink is developing ultra-high-bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect the human brain to computers.
Under Bezos' leadership, Amazon now operates cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming and artificial intelligence businesses in addition to e-commerce. Jeff Bezos is also the founder of 'Blue Origin', a company that sends manned rockets into space.
