Paul Pogba banned: French footballer Paul Pogba has been banned from football for four years due to doping offense which is seen as the ending of his professional football career.
Pogba was provisionally suspended by the tribunal in September after he tested positive for testosterone, a banned substance.
And then in October he was tested second time and confirmed as 'positive'. Then the anti-doping prosecutor's office requested a four-year suspension.
Juventus was sent a notification about the verdict from the anti-doping tribunal on Thursday morning.
In first reaction to the rules Pogba said he believed the verdict was "incorrect" and he would "never knowingly or deliberately" taken any dope.
"Everything I have built in my professional career has been taken away from me," he said in a statement.
In an X post the footballer said, "When I am free of legal restrictions, the full story will become clear," he said, adding he would appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas)."
"As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against", he added.
