Pakistan's new Prime Minister Election will be held on Sunday


The inaugural session of the 16th National Assembly of Pakistan has begun on Thursday. New members of parliament took oath at the beginning of the session. The election of the Prime Minister will be held on Sunday (3 March). 


According to the schedule issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, candidates can submit nomination papers till 2 PM on Saturday (March 2). The verification of documents will be completed on that day.



Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) nominated the party president Shahbaz Sharif for the post of Prime Minister. On the other hand, Omar Ayub Khan has been fielded by imprisoned leader Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).


General election held in Pakistan on 8 February with massive violence and unprecedented votes rigging after two years of political instability following the fall of Imran Khan's PTI led government through a no-trust motion by the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) led by PML-N and Pakistan People's Party (PPP). 



New Members of Parliament (MNAs) took oath at the inaugural session of Pakistan's 16th National Assembly on Thursday (February 29), reports Geo News. Speaker Raja Parvez Ashraf administered the oath.


 
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif, former President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI) took oath along with other members of the National Assembly. -F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
 


Lawmakers supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) started shouting slogans soon after the national anthem ended in the Parliament session. They had already informed that today's session will protest against election rigging. But at the request of the Speaker they settled and later all the members took oath.
