Maolana Fazl benefited most from no-trust move against Imran: PPP’s Faisal Karim

Jamiat Ulama Islam (JUI-F) Leader Maolana Fazlur Rehman benefited most from no-confidence move against Imran, said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Faisal Karim Kundi.

On Friday speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Faisal Karim Kundi noted that a PTI delegation visited the JUI-F yesterday. It was good that the two sides gathered.

Kundi said that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had alleged that his party’s mandate was stolen. “If it was stolen, then who was it given to? To the same delegation who visited him yesterday.”

Talking about Fazl’s comments on the alleged involvement of ex-spymaster Lt Gen Faiz Hameed in the no-confidence move against Imran Khan, Kundi noted that the former army official was posted at the Peshawar Corps Commander at the time.

He further said that Fazl was the head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement at the time and could have stopped the no-confidence move, adding that the JUI-F chief benefited the most from the move.

In an interview with a private TV channel on Thursday, Fazl disclosed an explosive acknowledgement about the overthrewing the Tehrik-e-Insaf led Imran Khan government.

He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) spearheaded the no-confidence move against Imran Khan, with Bajwa and Faiz providing directives to political parties.

In his words, "I was not in favour of it, but I supported it because then the PDM would have said that I saved Imran Khan".

He alleged that General (retd) Faiz also supported the no-confidence motion, claiming, "Gen Bajwa and Gen Faiz gave instructions about the no-confidence motion and PML-N and PPP sealed it. Gen Faiz said that we can do everything within the limits of the system and he had no objection to it.”
